To accompany the Self-Care for Black Women, there is an Affirmations for Black Women-A Journal.

One of the activities discussed in Self-Care for Black Women include affirmations. Life and death is in the power of the tongue. What we say about other people is important and what we say about ourselves is CRUCIAL! This journal has 100 positive messages and prompts that allow us to embrace the power of what we say about ourselves.

The one affirmation that continually stays with me is, "I am breaking generational curses by healing myself." (pg. 122). I am helping my offspring and the ones that are to follow by healing myself! If no other reason to practice radical self-care, I have to do it for future generations. I am setting the standard and being a living example of what it means to care for myself so I can minister and be a blessing to others. That is so UNSELFISH! It is okay for me to show others how I take care of myself. I must lead by example and show my daughter that she doesn't have the weight of the world on her shoulders and she has to show up for herself!

What other affirmations do you practice?
